Welcome to Cecily Cane
We are delighted you’re here and can’t wait to see what confectionery you curate into your first beautiful box from us. As Cecily Cane’s founder, I hope you’ll enjoy the process as much as I have done; personally selecting products that look beautiful and taste wonderful too.
I love how confectionery offers people the chance to treat or be treated. That sweet treat that isn’t always financially extravagant, but it shows care and appreciation and guaranteed will never go to waste. I’ve also always loved shopping, wrapping and giving gifts, and think a thoughtful gift of confectionery combined with beautiful wrapping is just perfect.
Confection Curated
The word ‘curate’ will feature heavily here at cecilycane.com. Not only is it our tagline, ‘Confection Curated’, but I’ll also be asking guests on The Edit page to curate their own selection from the Cecily Cane range. To start with, though, it seems only right to begin with my own edit. So here are some delicious products that I hope will inspire your own first curation.
Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved liquorice. I remember being given liquorice sticks (quite literally!) to chew on from health food shops and being brought back extremely salty liquorice from Europe. I also remember the first time I tried liquorice from Danish brand, Lakrids by Bülow. My favourite flavour so far is Passion Fruit (an intriguing mix of salty liquorice, covered in white chocolate and tangy passionfruit) – I’ve not found anyone yet who doesn’t want another!
Who doesn’t delight in beautiful packaging? I really hope you’ll love our bespoke packaging your purchases arrive in. We’ve spent a lot of time designing every aspect of how things arrive to your doorstep – after all, I certainly couldn’t have beautiful products arriving in packaging that didn’t reflect the contents inside! On that note, I hope you’ll take a look at the fabulous and eco-friendly packaging from chocolate brand, Harth. Like Japanese Furoshiki wrapping, the fabric wrapping is such a beautiful way to wrap a delicious bar of dark chocolate. These bars come in three flavours: Sea Salt, Chilli and Ginger.
A British classic, Charbonnel et Walker. This brand has become a staple for me over the years as my friends have celebrated big birthdays, marriages and births. I’ve often turned to Charbonnel et Walker for special gifts as they never fail to deliver something truly special, something never undervalued and one that is always enjoyed and appreciated.
I hope you’ll notice from the Cecily Cane curation that I really enjoy the aesthetics of things. That’s what I love about the confectionery industry; it’s not just about how something tastes. Brands spend time and thought perfecting how their products are presented and inevitably how their produce will make their customer feel. All brands do this, but some have centred their brand identity around the talent of artists and designers, using their artworks to adorn boxes and wrappings. COCO, a Scottish chocolate and confectionery brand not only focus on delicious, fair trade chocolate, they also work with a range of artists to design their packaging.
Arthouse Unlimited is a charity brand that also represents a collective of artists living with complex neuro-diverse and physical support needs. The artists work alongside instructors to create artworks that go on to wrap the brands products. I first discovered this brand many years ago when shopping in a beautiful, local, independent interiors shop – it really caught my eye and I’m delighted to be stocking it.
Far from style over substance, these chocolate bars taste as good as their packaging looks.
Thank you for joining me to explore this joyous world of chocolate confectionery.
It brings me such pleasure to be showcasing these perfect treats for you, your family and friends. As Cecily Cane grows I will seek to diversify the range but remain true to the ethos of the brand; Curate the best aesthetically, ethically aware and innovative chocolate and confectionery and present them to you as beautifully as they deserve.
