Lakrids by Bülow is an iconic, global, artisan liquorice brand created by Johan Bülow in Copenhagen. A pure indulgence for liquorice and chocolate lovers alike!

Johan had always wanted to create something. His passion for liquorice – a Scandinavian favourite that he didn’t feel was appreciated enough – resulted in his desire to make people take liquorice seriously. After an enormous amount of hours learning the demanding craft of liquorice making, in 2007 he was ready to boil, roll and cut his very first product. Wanting to explore the potential of gourmet liquorice, Johan decided to coat it with chocolate, which has long been a popular treat in Iceland. Back home in Denmark, some were initially sceptical of the idea, but soon the first chocolate-coated gourmet product, A – THE ORIGINAL, was created, and the sceptics were well and truly won over.

And now? Lakrids by Bülow continue to push the ideas of liquorice using only the finest, natural ingredients, and we are delighted that it’s our first liquorice brand here at cecilycane.com.
